Peak District

The peaks and dales of Derbyshire make a fab retreat for a few days. It is an ideal place to relax or to have a short walking break. Bakewell and Matlock are two of the most famous places and make a nice day trip. Elsewhere, Chatsworth House is a must visit.

With a wealth of things to offer, Scotland is one of the premier UK destinations. The highlands are good for outdoor lovers - there are forests and hills aplenty. Edinburgh is a nice, historic city to spend some time in. The coast and islands are quieter but have amazing natural scenery.

It may be the undersung hero of the British Isles, but parts of Wales are amazing. The Gower peninsula rivals any coastline in the UK and Europe, with some great wildlife to see. Many of the ex-mining areas are now tree covered nature areas, while Snowdonia is a majestic mountain range with quality views.

Cumbria and its Lake District are probably the most visited area in the UK, and for good reason. The mix of hills, mountains, and large lakes, make the area a beautiful sight. Ambleside and Grasmere are excellent excursions. Further north, Keswick is a perfect base to explore the nearby villages and fells.
